ROCHESTER, N.Y., October 8, 2026—In recognition of World Sight Day 2026, CooperVision today announced the widespread impact of its partnerships to expand access to eye care. Company-supported initiatives focused on policy, advocacy, education, and community-based care now span more than 85 countries, including more than 600 academic institutions, thousands of eye care professionals (ECPs), and millions of people around the planet.

“Improving global vision isn't something that any one organization can accomplish on its own,” said Karen Walsh, Senior Director, Global Professional Affairs, CooperVision. “It takes a network of committed organizations to address the many challenges that stand between people and the vision services they need. Each partner brings a different perspective and capability. When those contributions come together, they make a meaningful difference in the lives of people who deserve access to quality eye care.”

Working with organizations including the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, the Healthcare Alliance for Patient Safety, and The Myopia Collective, CooperVision is advancing awareness and advocacy around issues including avoidable vision loss and childhood myopia. Partnerships with the International Association of Contact Lens Educators and Optometry Giving Sight (OGS) strengthen education and professional development for the next generation of ECPs.

At a community level, CooperVision-supported programs with groups such as Vision Action, the African Eye Institute, Indian Eye Institute, Plastic Bank, and OGS to deliver critical screenings.

“Together, these efforts demonstrate what can be achieved when organizations combine their expertise and resources. On World Sight Day 2026, we encourage everyone in the eye care community to find ways to take part in their own way,” said Walsh.
